The morphological chart is a unique tool that is used to identify the design elements of a DEER. Items identified within these elements could be selected based on an individual’s objective or use of a DEER.

The following are the simple steps to using a morphological chart.

• Acknowledge the design elements on the left Colum of the chart.

• From the alternatives provided by each design element, select one or more than one of these alternatives.

The table below shows an example of how one alternative of each design element on the morphological chart was used to develop a puzzle game.
