Creating a game framework
In order to understand the simple dynamics that goes through during an educational escape room, a simple framework was develop for this understanding. This was also done to present an understanding of what a framework was to our partners.

The following are the steps used to establish a game framework.

Identified and reviewed twenty DEER journal articles.

Categorized the DEER approaches identified in each journal article.

Patterns were generated and four element frameworks were identified.

The gamification nature of an escape room based on literature were identified (Problem, Gamification, behavioral modification and Measure/evaluate.
Organization and categorization of Literature
To identify the various design elements of a Digital Educational Escape Room (DEER), it was important to first identify what previous literature identified.

To do this, academic journal articles on educational escape room was organized using an excel document.

Review of twenty journal articles.

Categorize DEER design elements on Miro board.

Identification of most occurring elements to identify significant patterns.

Most occurred elements represented the gamification structure of a Digital Educational Escape Room (DEER).
